This morning, Chris Hayes uncovered an explosive document from a K Street firm detailing how, for nearly $1 million, they could help bankers demonize the Occupy Wall Street movement and scare off Democrats from embracing the cause. The firm is closely connected to Speaker John Boenher. But another connection is evident: Sam Geduldig, a lobbyist at the firm responsible for the plan, is a fundraiserfor Mitt Romney, Wall Street’s candidate for the presidency.

The firm at the center of this controversy, Clark Lytle Geduldig & Cranford, pitched the American Bankers Association on a plan to conduct opposition research and message development against the protesters. Then, the firm planned to launch an attack campaign against Democrats to send a warning against criticizing Wall Street. “A big challenge is to demonstrate that these companies still have political strength and that making them a political target will carry a severe political cost,” says the memo.
